Reading Decimal Numbers
Reading decimal numbers may be performed as follows:
1) Read digits to the left of the decimal point in the same manner as if they were whole numbers
(Note: This step is skipped if non-zero numbers do not exist to the left of the decimal point)
2) Read the decimal point as "and"
3) Read digits to the right of the decimal point as if they represented a whole number
4) Name the place value of the rightmost digit after the decimal point (e.g., thousandths, millionths)
Examples:
- 0.672 is read as:
- 13.00512 is read as
